3. Register on Nashua Special Olympics Website
In order to get information about what is going on at NSO you need to be registered on this website. Go to
http://www.nashuaspecialolympics.org, click on “Register”, fill in the information and follow the directions
It will typically take a few days for confirmation. After registration is confirmed, you will start receiving informational emails.
Be sure to check your Junk/Spam folder to ensure NSO emails didn’t go there.
We offer several sports throughout the year. On the left column of the website there is a link to “SPORTS_TIMELINE” which shows which sports are held during the year. Some of our sports are Unified. A Unified Sport is an initiative that combines an approximately equal number of Special Olympics Athletes and Athletes without intellectual disabilities (Unified Partners) on the same sports teams for training and competition.
4. Select a fundraiser
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
SONH charges assessment fees for each Athlete and Volunteer registered for Regional and State events. Assessment fees range between $30 and $75 per person. It is important to work with your coaches to ensure registration is accurate, and NSO only gets charged for those Athletes and Volunteers who actively participate in events. Some sports include overnight stays; we ask that these housing fees be covered by the participants. Some sports such as Alpine Skiing and Bowling have practice fees and we ask that these fees be covered by participants as well. Combining assessment fees, equipment expenses, and facilities, the yearly operating budget for NSO is over $45,000 per year.
This is 100% fundraised and we need everyone’s help.
We ask EVERYONE TO participate in at least one of our fundraisers.
The Penguin Plunge is a Special Olympics New Hampshire fundraiser. If you allocate 100% of your fundraising to Nashua Special Olympics, 50% of funds raised by NSO participants goes to NSO, the other 50% goes to SONH to support the event cost. Minimum fundraising is $350. Go to SONH.org for more information.
Other fundraising events are in development – stay tuned.
Thank you for contacting Nashua Special Olympics and we look forward to meeting you.
